What comes into your mind when one mention buddhism?
Very traditional?
Monks who do nothing but chant?
It's an Old people's religion?
All i can say is that a very wrong misconception.
I just got back from Buddhist Fellowship's(BF) youth service. There were band playing, songs sang as well as dinner.
It started with darma talks. That was the most interesting dhamma talk i've ever attended. It's more cathered to the youths. Today's topic was inlined with the upcoming x'mas. It's entitled Buddhamas:The Buddha and The Christ. Very very interesting topic.
The 2 wise men's teaching are very similar. Quotes were taken from the Dhamma Pad and The book of Luke as well as The Book of Mattew to prove that. I was impressed.
After that was pot luck dinner. Everyone was supposed to bring a dish with them. Quite an interesting idea.
Following that was party time. We sortta of celebrated "x'mas". The band was playing and everyone was partying. All the youths took to the floor and let their hair loose.
Some shorts that were taken.

The singing session.

The dance session.
It was actually my first time there but within minutes i got to know almost all the youths there. The people were so welcoming. Soon i was also pushed to the dance floor and we all danced non stop. Got to know some very very friendly people too.
Their youth service is every sat evening from 5.15.
There is also service on Sun 11am.
I guess i'll be joining them again tml since it's SUNDAY! (=
